How to Grow as a Streamer

Twitch is quickly becoming one of the most popular platforms among younger demographics (>25), with thousands of streams competing for the attention and interaction of viewers on a daily basis.

Which begs the question: How do you grow on twitch? In order to write this article, we polled hundreds of streamers and their viewers, and the results are as follows:

Consistency – This is by far the most important quality in any industry, including streaming. Make an effort to post as frequently as possible, and preferably at the same time.

Time schedule – Thousands of streamers compete for attention at the same time, try to be unique, and go live either before or after another big streamer (same type of content).

Distinct personality – Don’t try to be someone you’re not; fans despise it when a streamer is just a cheap imitation of another streamer. Be genuine, create your own content and formulas (this may take a while).

Invest in your content – To compete with the big boys, you must have high-quality content; good designers and editors will help enable you in taking your content to the next level. Here’s how to find the best talent.

Social media presence – The general consensus among all of the streamers we interviewed was the same… Post content across social media, whether it’s the entire live stream on YouTube, the best moments, or short form highlights (on TikTok, reels, shorts…) HackWork has thousands of skilled editors who can assist you in taking your content to the next level.

Good quality lives – Whether this means good lighting, good camera quality or even a steam overlay. We recommend using professionals for all your design needs (YouTube banner, profile picture, stream overlays).

Good team of mods- Though this may seem extra, mods provide serious help to streamers, helping you navigate the TOS and avoiding unnecessary bans. HackWork is a great place to find mods.
