Why Short-Form Content is the Best Way to Grow as a Creator

Everyone seems to be posting on TikTok these day. Perhaps this is due to TikTok’s popularity among younger generations (those under the age of 25).

However, the answer is not so simple. You see, short form videos have been popular for a long time; remember the now-legendary app Vine (RIP).

So, why are people creating short form content again?

We believe that combining our small attention spans with increasing societal FOMO results in a generation whose “investment” (as in time invested rather than money) is nearly impossible to obtain.

As a result, we believe that short form videos (primarily TikTok) are the best way for you, as a content creator, to capture the attention and devotion of a community.

However, attention span is not the only reason you should post short form content. The rabbit hole gets much deeper.

The algorithm on YouTube (and on Twitch) rewards viewer retention and intractability. This is the primary reason why channel growth can be such a painful, time-consuming, and unpleasant experience.

Posting short form videos (whether on TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube Shorts) highlights your content while also keeping viewers engaged.

But wait… there’s more… So far, we haven’t revealed anything groundbreaking, but there’s a reason TikTok (and similar platforms) are so important for content creators.

The “for you” page’s algorithm on TikTok is designed to show you not only the content you interact with, but also other creators in a similar line of production.

This is why it’s so “easy” to grow on TikTok, and why every content creator NEEDS to use short-form content, as it’s the most efficient way to find your niche/community while maintaining consistent growth.

You’re statistically more likely to find your niche community on TikTok, though this does not guarantee that you’ll be able to convert them to your stream/channel. It is unquestionably faster.

Your future fan base is already looking for your content on the platforms; it’s just a matter of time before you post it.

To summarize, short term videos will assist a new audience in reaching the best moments of your content; it is also the quickest way to grow in the content creator space.

We believe that as a content creator, your content and editing must be A+.
